Would a software development system need automated tools to help search for good solutions ?

So the system can do background searches, just as a computer program for chess does, and come up with good combination that no one thought of.

It would be good great idea, the only way for a computer to pick up man made faults before introducing any updates :)

Having worked with several development tools, I think that such a feature is very valuable. I am currently using Microsoft Visual Studio 2008. They are the best of the best in my opinion.
