Does anyone know how to stop an unwanted caller who calls your cell ph w/an automated voice message?

The number 702 520-1467 from Nevada keeps calling me saying I am running out of time to get some kind of special car insurance. They call my cell phone like 3 times a day, a few times a week and since its an automated message every time I pick up, dont know what to do about it. Obviously, very annoying and I don’t even own a car. WTF?

You need to answer the call, and do whatever they say to connect to an operator, then politely tell that person to remove your number, and that they are not to call you again. After you have done this, they are not allowed to call again. It is unwanted solicitation.

Call the police. Any caller that continously bothers another person is considered an act of harassment. In this case, I would call the police and report the number.

There should be an option in your phone that allows you to block certain numbers. It’s like blocking spam e-mails, but for your phone. The way to do it depends on the phone though, it should probably be under settings or something.

Look up the do not call registry phone number for cells. Once your on it, places you have not done business with will not be allowed to call you under penalty of fines.
You do not have to report the businesses to the registry. The businesses know who’s on it, it’s that simple.

Put your number to the national do not call registry. I’ve been getting that a lot lately too, with the South Dakota Primary being today. I’ve been getting calls from Clinton and Obama. And I am on the national do not call registry, I don’t know if it applies to events like elections though. However, it should stop telemarketers from calling you.

YOU can go to your cellphone service company and tell them that you want to block communications or just get your cell # change

Unfortunately, the Do Not Call list will not work in this instance as the callers are not telemarketers; they are identity thieves. They are calling numbers on the Federal Registry and they are calling people who do not own cars (as you know) or do not have warranties on their cars. It’s all a phishing scheme to steal personal and financial information.

And to continue the bad news, blocking the number is only a temporary solution as they switch to a new number every other week. I’ve seen three different numbers already.
