What is a manual process you currently perform at work that you think can be better served being automated?

Tell me about a manual process you currently perform at work that you think can be better served being automated. How does the process work now? How would it work after being automated?
Making sure there’s enough coffee in the urn.
I’d never have to worry about if I’ll actually get a full cup…

Would a software development system need automated tools to help search for good solutions ?

So the system can do background searches, just as a computer program for chess does, and come up with good combination that no one thought of.
It would be good great idea, the only way for a computer to pick up man made faults before introducing any updates

Would Pol Pot have approved ?

Was "Cambodia Year Zero" anything like this ?
A person is recruited on the basis that there will be:
PM/FL, (automated periodic-maintenance, fault-logging, functionality built in to the system),
training modes that would help to set to work the system,
Automated testing,
Design for testability,
Model-based testing,

What VB would I use to automate the import of text files into Excel based on user names found on a worksheet?

We are migrating users from Novell server to Microsoft and we must preserve their drive mappings.
I have a spreadsheet which lists between say 1 and 75 user names. I have drive mapping files associated with most user names that indicates which drive mappings the user has set up on their machine. I would [...]

Can I find the name of a business using just the phone number?

I have called the phone number that I have but all I get is an automated service and can never reach a REAL person.

how can you have empty life rafts?

isn’t there someone to activate them = someone clearly survived? How does that happen such as the recent helicopter crash, where the life rafts are deployed but no one is in them. This happens on fishing vessels a lot too. I understand some may be automated, but still, any input would be appreciated.
Sadly too often [...]

Where can I find the best online website benchmarking tool?

I am looking for a tool to audit websites based on its design components (ie good use of links, pictures, text etc.). It can be automated or manual.
Points for the quickest answer, time is a factor. We are through the looking glass here
I wouldn’t trust a tool for something as subjective as that. Just [...]
